At least one killed after lightning sets fuel tank ablaze in Cuba

At least one person was killed and 121 injured after a lightning strike on August 5 sparked a massive fire at a crude oil storage warehouse in Matanzas, Cuba. A total of 17 firefighters are missing. The fire occurred at a time when the island, which has an outdated energy network and persistent fuel shortages, is facing mounting difficulties in meeting increased energy demands amid the severe summer heat.
