A series of amateur outdoor basketball games in southwest China's Guizhou Province attracted more than 50 million online viewers in just four days when livestreamed between July 30 and August 2. This was the second year that Guizhou hosted the "Gorgeous Countryside" basketball tournament.
This year's final match took place on Tuesday night in Taipan Town in Taijiang County in Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, with over 10,000 cheering spectators in attendance. The semi-finals on July 30 attracted thousands of local and neighboring villagers, some of whom came hundreds of miles for the games.
