China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) vowed to strengthen cooperation and make greater efforts to safeguard regional peace and stability, as this year marks the 55th anniversary of the founding of ASEAN and the first year of building the China-ASEAN comprehensive strategic partnership. During the 55th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting and the related meetings, China released a statement on its support for ASEAN centrality.
