China's aviation regulator has started easing coronavirus-related suspension measures for inbound international flights.
The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) said in a statement on Sunday that an inbound international flight with an identified coronavirus case will be suspended for one week if 4 percent passengers test positive, and two weeks if 8 percent of passengers test positive.
The quota for the above-mentioned flights shall not be transferred to other routes, and relevant policies will be adjusted in a timely manner according to epidemic prevention requirements, the CAAC said.
Previously, the aviation regulator's policy was that if more than 5 and less than 10 passengers tested positive, the flights would be suspended for two weeks. The suspension will last for four weeks if 10 or more passengers test positive, according to the rules in place since May 1 of 2021.
