On August 5, China leveled sanctions against U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her family. Previous Chinese sanctions against Western lawmakers included banning travel to China and freezing any assets they might have there. For Pelosi, this would be a major blow to the interests of her family, which is heavily linked to China.
