Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday sent a congratulatory message to his Singaporean counterpart Halimah Yacob on the country's 57th National Day.
In the message, Xi said that Singapore has committed to a development path that suits its own national realities and has made huge achievements since its founding 57 years ago.
China and Singapore enjoy close and friendly relations, with wide-ranging and deep cooperation between the two countries, he said.
"I attach great importance to the development of China-Singapore relations, and stand ready to work with President Halimah to lead the two countries to dock their development strategies and expand high-level cooperation so as to take China-Singapore ties to a new level for the benefit of the two countries and peoples," said the Chinese president.
On Tuesday, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang also congratulated Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on the national day of the Southeast Asian country.
China is ready to work with Singapore to inject more positive energy for the regional peace and prosperity, Li said.
