China will resolutely fight back should the U.S. make one more provocation, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin said on Wednesday at a daily press conference.

"The U.S. side should ditch the idea of 'Using Taiwan to contain China' before it's too late," he said.

The spokesperson reiterated that U.S. House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi's recent Taiwan visit violates the one-China principle and is a serious provocation.

He also defended Chinese countermeasures in wake of the visit, saying the measures are "fully reasonable, appropriate and moderate" and were imposed after U.S. provocations.
