Quanzhou city in southeast China's Fujian Province was one of the starting points for international trade in ancient China. During its heydays, Quanzhou was trading with over 100 countries and regions, accounting for 2 percent of the annual national fiscal revenue during the Song and Yuan dynasties (960 – 1368).
