Sri Lanka's former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has left Singapore, Singapore's Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) confirmed on Thursday.

The Thai Foreign Ministry confirmed on Wednesday that Rajapaksa had requested entry into Thailand for a temporary stay.

Rajapaksa fled to Singapore on July 14 following unprecedented unrest caused by Sri Lanka's worst economic crisis in seven decades.

He hasn't made a public appearance since.
