Russia and Ukraine exchanged accusations on Thursday over new strikes on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine.
Energoatom, the National Nuclear Energy Generating Company of Ukraine, accused Russian forces of shelling the power plant in the day, saying the plant's area was struck five times, including near the site where radioactive materials are stored.
Nobody was injured, and the situation at the plant remained under control, it said.
But according to Vladimir Rogov, a representative of the Russia-appointed regional administration, Ukrainian forces attacked the power plant using a Multiple Launch Rocket System and heavy artillery from the right bank of the Dnieper River, RIA news agency reported.
The Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant has been under the control of Russian forces since March and has been the scene of military strikes in recent days.
