Abysmal performances, dismal results and the exhausting transfer drama of their highest-paid 'prima donna' Cristiano Ronaldo have made Manchester United a volatile place. To add to United's misery, Paris Saint-Germain are lurking in the shadows to pounce on one of the most talented strikers at Old Trafford.
France's iconic sports newspaper L'Equipe revealed on Thursday that the French champions have held talks with Marcus Rashford's representatives over a move to Paris and the negotiations between the two parties are progressing "positively."
ESPN later confirmed the news, adding that PSG are yet to start discussions with United and the English giants could ask for a high fee if they agree to let Rashford leave. The Rashford camp "has been receptive to the Parisians' approach so far," the reports say.

Rashford, 24, has only one year left on his contract at United, but the Red Devils have a clause in his deal enabling them to trigger an option to extend it by a further year. It puts the club in a strong position and they could resist the interest from PSG.
Meanwhile, PSG new coach Christophe Galtier, who replaced Mauricio Pochettino at the Parc des Princes this summer, declared at a news conference on Thursday that he needed another forward, but stopped short of telling reporters that Rashford is the club's primary target.
"We wish the arrival of a new striker," Galtier said. "The club is working, I am in direct contact with [football advisor] Luis Campos. Luis is in direct contact with our president [Nasser Al-Khelaifi]. We must not make any mistakes. Will this player arrive? We don't know. It has to be a real plus."

Galtier admitted PSG's relentless effort in the transfer market will not necessarily lead to a positive outcome.
"The club is working in this direction," he said. "But whether by the end of the transfer window an offensive player will arrive I cannot confirm it but the club is working hard on this position."
The exit rumor surrounding Rashford looks as though it will continue until the very last moments of this summer's transfer window.

In a separate deal, United have agreed a transfer fee with Serie A powerhouse Juventus for Adrien Rabiot, according to Italian media outlet Sportmediaset. It is reported that Rabiot's mother and agent Veronique will have a meeting with United on Friday to discuss the player's wages.
The Daily Mail claimed that United new manager Erik ten Hag has pushed to sign Rabiot after his team lost to Brighton in the first game of the Premier League season, but Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio revealed that there is currently a "blockage" as United are yet to convince both the player and the mother to seal the move.
