During the Song and Yuan Dynasties, Quanzhou was already the emporium of the world. Merchants from all over the world sailed to the "city of the light," brought along their cultures and beliefs. Kaiyuan Temple perfectly showcases Quanzhou's well-established history and inclusive culture.
