The red carpet rolled out on Friday for the opening ceremony of the 12th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) at Yanqi Lake. Over 100 top filmmakers and actors attended the event. Among the stars were the cast of "Above the Dust," including 52-year-old actress Yong Mei and veteran actor Zu Feng. The movie, shot in rural Gansu in northwest China, revolves around local farmers' love of the land. Mei told CGTN that she was so excited to reunite with director Wang Xiaoshuai after they previously collaborated on "So Long, My Son," which earned her the Best Actress Award at the 69th Berlin International Film Festival.
