A press conference for the newly appointed regional ambassadors of the Special Olympics East Asia was held in Shanghai on Saturday. Su Yiming, a Chinese snowboarder and champion of the Beijing Winter Olympics snowboard men's big jump, was named the Special Olympics East Asia Ambassador.

Su said, "It is a great honor to be appointed by Special Olympics as the ambassador for East Asia. I hope to do my best to promote snowboarding and the sports spirit of self-improvement to more people, including special groups."

"Everyone has a dream, and every dream is worth trying and working hard. Through the Special Olympics and sports to inspire and build friendships with people with intellectual disabilities, we can all feel the true charm of sports, allowing more people to pursue their dreams while feeling inclusive, equal, and integrated," Su said.

To congratulate Su Yiming, Chinese GIF search engine Shanmeng and artist Shen Jingdong created a portrait artwork for Su. According to Shanmeng, the artwork will be auctioned at the Special Olympics Charity Fundraising Dinner, and all the proceeds will be used for the Special Olympics public welfare.
