Decades of war, natural disasters have internally displaced some 3.4 million Afghans

Half of Afghanistan's population experiences acute hunger, according to the United Nations. Some 3.4 million people, by the end of 2021, had been displaced due to decades of conflict and recurrent natural disasters.
