Kenya's Vice President William Ruto was elected as the country's new president for the next five years on Monday, according to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.
William Ruto is from Kenya Kwanza (Kenya First) Alliance.
The success came as the East African country is facing surging living costs and high unemployment.
