In Kenya, the election result, naming William Ruto as the next president, has triggered violent protests in some areas. Ruto beat rival Raila Odinga by a narrow margin after a largely peaceful voting process but now observers fear turbulent times ahead. Demonstrators in Odinga's strongholds were seen hurling stones and setting fire to tires following Monday's announcement.
