It has been a year since the hasty withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan. The country has been working on rebuilding a conflict-weary society and a battered economy. Yet after the past 20 years, in the shadow of the U.S. invasion, Afghanistan has been left with deep, crippling war scars. Among them is a humanitarian crisis which is now the greatest challenge.
