JACK TAN Director of Project Development Department Greenland Global Commodity Trading Hub Group "I tasted the Afghan pine nuts during the expo and thought they could have a wider distribution in the Chinese market. I want to see if I can negotiate a good price with the boss to promote it in China."

Pine nuts are a key export for Afghanistan historically. In 2019, it launched pine nut export through an air corridor to a few countries, including China. Exports were disrupted by the sudden change of government in Afghanistan last August. Last November, the air corridor was reopened with a cargo flight carrying about 45 tons of pine nuts from Kabul to Shanghai. Since then, tons of Afghan pine nuts have been exported to China and generate millions of dollars for locals in need.

ALI AZGHAR FAIZ Head of Afghanistan Collection Pavilion Greenland Global Commodity Trading Hub "It was the most difficult time for the Afghan economy. Many of our products could not be exported. The Chinese government helped us to export the agricultural products to China, which was a great help to our economy and local people's livelihood."

Ali is happy with the sales of Afghan pine nuts in China. And he is planning to bring more Afghan agricultural products and handicrafts to China, creating more business opportunities for his compatriots. Lin Nan, CGTN, Shanghai.
