The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) will take part in Russia's Vostok-2022 strategic military drills along with other countries, including India, Belarus, Tajikistan and Mongolia, the Chinese Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.

China's participation aims at enhancing strategic coordination among the participating nations and strengthening the ability to respond to security threats, the ministry said in a statement, which added that the drills are unrelated to the current international and regional situation.
