A total of 57,000 China-Europe freight trains had been operated accumulatively by July 2022, according to a development report released on Thursday. Initiated in 2011, China-Europe freight trains have reached 196 cities in 24 European countries, delivering a total of 5.3 million 20-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of goods. As part of the Belt and Road Initiative, the service has played a significant role in boosting trade between China and countries along the routes.
