The Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee has held a press conference on the country's cultural development over the past ten years. Sun Yeli, Vice Minister of the Publicity Department of CPC Central Committee, told reporters that Chinese authorities adhere to a people-centered work orientation to solidly promote the construction of a socialist cultural power.

"The quality of our spiritual and cultural products has been significantly improved, as well as the cultural self-confidence of the whole Party and the people of all ethnic groups. The unity and centripetal force of the whole society has also been greatly enhanced," he said. The vice minister also said cultural institutions have flourished as China has deepened cultural reform and development to continuously meet the growing spiritual and cultural needs of its people. "Over the years, we have continued to provide standard and equal public cultural services and improve the network of public cultural service facilities to cover both urban and rural areas and provide people with richer, more convenient, and more 'tasteful' cultural products and services," he said.
