China's State Council has agreed to establish an inter-ministerial system to optimize the formulation of the country's birth policies led by State Council leaders, according to a government notice published on Friday.
Meanwhile, the old system introduced in 2014 and involved the now dissolved National Health and Family Planning Commission and several other Chinese departments has also been scrapped, the notice said.
Established in 2013, the National Health and Family Planning Commission was replaced with the National Health Commission in 2018.
