Ukraine's second-largest city, Kharkiv, has been battered by Russian shelling. The Kharkiv region's governor said 17 people were killed and 42 injured in two separate attacks on Wednesday and Thursday. In Ukraine's west, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres held a closed-door meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Lviv. Guterres expressed concerns over the security of Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, which is under Russian control. Zelenskyy and Guterres have agreed to send an IAEA mission to the plant. Russia said a UN proposal for pulling its troops from the plant is "unacceptable."
