As many as 153 people were injured while forming human pyramids during India's Dahi Handi celebrations in Mumbai, while 64 more suffered injuries in Thane city, Press Trust of India (PTI) reported on Saturday.

Most of the wounded participants were discharged from hospital in Mumbai, while 23 others remained hospitalized and were in stable condition, PTI reported.

This year's celebrations were held on Friday without restrictions for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic.
