On August 16, 2022, the 12th Beijing International Film Festival held the Derek Yee workshop and masterclass. Famous director and producer Derek Tung-Sing Yee delivered a speech as a guest. He said, "Hong Kong's associate director used to take at least 10 years to be promoted as a director in the big studios. If you want to be a director, you have to start at the bottom."
