Floods, landslides leave dozens dead in northern India

At least 40 people were killed and many others are missing after flash floods triggered by heavy monsoon rains hit northern India over the past three days, officials said on Sunday. The rains inundated hundreds of villages, swept away mud houses, flooded roads and destroyed bridges in some parts of the Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand states.
