Caroline Garcia from France became the first qualifier to reach the Cincinnati Open final as she edged out sixth-seeded Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 in the women's singles semifinal round on Saturday.

Garcia will next face Petra Kvitova from the Czech Republic, who outlasted the 2019 Cincinnati champion Madison Keys of the U.S. 6-7 (6), 6-4, 6-3, in what would be the veteran's 40th career final.

In the men's singles final, fourth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas from Greece will be contested by Croatian Borna Coric.

Tsitsipas downed Russia's world No.1 Daniil Medvedev 7-6 (6), 3-6, 6-3 in a late comeback, collapsing in the second set in which he narrowly avoided a bagel when Medvedev led by 5-0.

Coric edged out Britain's Cameron Norrie 6-3, 6-4 in the other semifinal to reach his second ATP Masters 1000 final.

Norrie raced to a 3-1 lead before Coric found form to win five straight games to secure the opening set. Coric went on to take a 4-2 lead before closing out the match to set up a third career meeting with Tsitsipas.
