Champions Real Madrid got their second consecutive win of the new La Liga season with a comfortable 4-1 victory at Celta Vigo on Saturday, after reaching an agreement with Manchester United over the transfer of Brazilian midfielder Casemiro.

Karim Benzema opened the scoring from the spot in the 14th minute after the video assistant referee (VAR) spotted a handball inside the box, but Celta equalized nine minutes later with a penalty of their own from Iago Aspas after another handball.

Luka Modric worked his magic in the 41st  minute by curling a shot from just outside the box into the upper left corner to regain the lead for Real.

Modric then teed up Vinicius to score the third in a lightning-fast counterattack in the 56th minute.

Ten minutes later, Federico Valverde finished another clinical counterattack to wrap up the points.

Elsewhere in Europe, Harry Kane set a Premier League record as his headed goal earned Tottenham Hotspur a 1-0 home victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the UK. Arsenal opened their Premier League campaign with three successive wins for the first time in 18 years after Martin Odegaard's brace fired them to a classy 3-0 win at Bournemouth.

In Italy, Inter Milan cruised to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Spezia in their first home game of the new Serie A season, making it back-to-back wins for Simone Inzaghi's side.

In France, 10-man Marseille edged past Nantes 2-1 in Ligue 1.

In Germany's Bundesliga, RB Leipzig slumped to a 2-1 loss at Union Berlin to make it three straight defeats as the crisis over their failed start deepened.
