One year after the fall of Kabul to the Taliban, the U.S. government has resettled some 80,000 Afghan refugees in the United States. But tens of thousands more Afghans who helped the U.S. or worked for the U.S. during the war were left behind. Despite qualifying for special visas to enter the U.S., their applications remain mired in bureaucracy and their lives overcome by desperation and anxiety.
