A giant panda cub, named Xiao Qi Ji or "Little Miracle," celebrated his second birthday with a cake made mainly of fruit and bamboo at the Smithsonian's National Zoo in Washington, D.C. on August 21. He is a male giant panda who was born at the zoo in 2020 and is the fourth surviving cub of parents Mei Xiang and Tian Tian. This year also marks 50 years of China-U.S. partnership for saving the giant panda from extinction.
