The severity of droughts is gripping countries across Europe including France, Spain and Italy. Italy's worst drought in decades has brought Lake Garda, the country's largest lake, to near its lowest water level in 15 years, exposing a bed of previously underwater rocks. After Italy's major rivers have faced a drought this summer, in the tourist town of Sirmione, more than 30 meters of additional coastline has appeared after water levels dropped to nearly 30 centimeters.
