The risk of a leak at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant has risen as tensions escalate. Russia has warned of potential catastrophic nuclear war if NATO continues to fuel the fire by providing military support to Ukraine. 

David Monye, director of the Center for Africa-China Studies at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa, said that NATO should“find an amicable way of resolving the issue of securing the nuclear plant”to avoid pushing the Russia-Ukraine conflict to the brink of nuclear war.
