Russian forces have taken control of 36 square kilometers of the territory of Ukraine's Kherson region and 12 square kilometers of the Mykolaiv region, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.

The "liberation" of the city of Maryinka in the Donetsk region is "being completed," with more than 75 percent of the city under Russian control, the ministry added.

There has been no response yet from the Ukrainian side.
