Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has launched its first cold-chain freight train for transporting plums this year. A train carrying 640 tonnes of plums departed from Kashgar Station for Xi'an City in Shaanxi Province on August 21. Four sets of 32 mechanical cold-chain containers were allocated to meet the demand for the transportation of plums. Meanwhile, various road transport companies prepared 15 vehicles to transport the plums to different locations. The cold-chain containers are able to work around the clock to keep the plums fresh to the maximum extent.
