The tropical cyclone Ma-on that battered the main Luzon island this week has killed four people in the country, local media the Philippine Daily Inquirer reported Thursday as the storm now is already outside the Philippine area of responsibility.

Ma-on is expected to make landfall in south China's Guangdong around Thursday noon.
