Typhoon Ma-on makes landfall in S China

Typhoon Ma-on, the ninth typhoon of the year, made landfall in the coastal areas of Maoming City, south China's Guangdong Province, at around 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, according to the National Meteorological Center.
