Triggered by an unusual drought and the hottest weather in decades, three districts in southwest China's Chongqing -- Tongliang, Banan and Beibei, were hit by wildfires, all in mountainous forests. Local authorities reported that as of 8:00 a.m. on August 25, all visible flames in Tongliang District and Banan District were extinguished without casualties.

Since the wildfires broke out, many local residents formed volunteer groups to provide logistical services. Young motorcyclists have also helped deliver supplies to areas that larger vehicles couldn't access. Reinforcement firefighters from Gansu and Yunnan Provinces came to Beibei's aid. As of 8:30 a.m. on August 26, all visible flames in Beibei District have been completely extinguished.
