Alexander Volga, the Russian-appointed official in the Energodar region where the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant is located, said on Friday that electricity from the nuclear plant was being supplied to Ukraine as normal.

He added that the nuclear plant is operating normally and there are no failures.

Ukrainian state atomic energy company Energoatom had said earlier that the plant's six reactors had been disconnected from the country's electricity grid.
