Hukou Waterfall has seen the biggest flood crest in Jixian County, north China's Shanxi Province. Local officials say the crest appeared on Monday night, with the water flow surging at around 5,500 cubic meters per second. The flood was formed amid heavy rainfall on the middle reaches of the Yellow River. The scenic spot's sightseeing area and the pedestrian arch bridges have all been submerged, with part of the safety fences destroyed. The scenic spot has been temporarily closed for safety concerns.
