A mission from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will visit the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant (NPP) next week, Ukrainian media reported Friday, citing Lana Zerkal, advisor to the Minister of Energy of Ukraine.
The official said all the logistical routes are being decided and accused Russia of creating obstacles so that the mission does not reach the plant.
Russia has repeatedly expressed support for the IAEA's visit to the nuclear plant and said it's ready to offer all-round assistance in organizing the trip.
No official date has been announced yet, but IAEA's Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi on Thursday said he will personally lead a mission to the plant in the next few days to "help stabilize the nuclear safety and security situation there" after receiving a report from Ukraine that all six units of the NPP remain disconnected from the grid.
