Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree to give monthly and one-off social payments to refugees who have arrived in Russia since February 18 from two Donbas regions - "the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR)" and "the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR)," as well as Ukraine, Russian media reported on Saturday.

It's reported that certain categories of people, including disabled persons and the elderly, above the age of 80, will be given 10,000 rubles (around $166) in monthly payments while pregnant women will be entitled to one-off payments of a similar amount.

Under the decree, the payments will be backdated to July 1 and corresponding funds will be made through to the end of 2022.

According to a TASS report on Tuesday, more than 3.6 million refugees including 576,000 children have arrived in Russia from the territory of Donbas and Ukraine since February.
