Afghanistan diary: A chat with Taliban soldiers
03:10

CGTN talks to two former religious students who gave up their studies to become volunteer Taliban soldiers in Lashkar Gah, the capital city of Helmand Province. In the past, the two regularly participated in fights against U.S. troops. A year after the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan, the pair are still armed with automatic rifles and have no other plans than to keep protecting their country. The pair also talk about whether they get paid as Taliban soldiers, whether they are married, and what do their fathers do.
