Live: Greece's largest farmland area faces growing desertification

The ever-growing energy crisis in Europe is putting the Greece's agricultural industry at risk. In the meantime, a large amount of farmland is being deserted as a result of climate change and lack of sufficient water resources.

Although Greece is in a better position than other European countries, continuing droughts, rising temperatures and the lack of water are making farmers in the Thessaly region, the country's largest farmland area, turn away from more profitable crops.
