Pakistan's army has appealed to the international community for more help, as its deadly monsoon season has left over a thousand dead. Rescuers are ramping up efforts to reach people stranded by floods. Hundreds have been airlifted to safety, as the military joined national recovery efforts. Some 33 million people have been affected, with nearly a million homes destroyed or damaged.
