Two Iraqis were killed and 19 others were injured after supporters of Iraq's Shiite Muslim cleric Moqtada al-Sadr clashed with supporters of Iran-backed groups in Baghdad.

Reuters reporters said that gunfire was heard in Baghdad as Iran-aligned gunmen fired bullets into the air as the hundreds of followers of al-Sadr have stormed Iraq's government palace shortly after he announced he was withdrawing from politics.
