An International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) team is heading to the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) in Ukraine, expecting to arrive later this week, said IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi on Monday.
"We must protect the safety and security of Ukraine's and Europe's biggest nuclear facility," Grossi said in a post on Twitter.
According to the report from Russian Gazette earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Maria Vladimirovna Zakharova said, on Sunday, that Moscow expects the IAEA team to exclude external distractions and inspect the ZNPP in this week.
Yevhen Vitaliiovych Balytskyi, governor of Zaporizhzhia Oblast, told the RIA Novosti during an interview that the Zaporizhzhia Oblast has prepared for the reception and provided a full security blanket to the IAEA team, ensuring that the team gets access to ZNPP and its vicinity to carry out evaluation.
