One year ago, America left a shattered Afghanistan to the Afghans. America's failure in nation-building, the "America First" ideology and the conflict with the Taliban authorities made the Americans less empathetic, more calculated, and willing to use any means to achieve their goals regardless of consequences to the Afghans.
