The hasty withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan last August marked a traumatic period for Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul. Thousands of Afghans flocked to the airport in hope of leaving Afghanistan, but amid the chaos of the evacuation and a bomb explosion, many lost their lives. A year later, CGTN revisits the airport and talks to those who have witnessed its reconstruction and efforts to return to normality.
