The Liaozi large-span bridge, an important control project of the Yinchuan-Baise Expressway in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, was successfully connected on Monday.
The 330.8-meter-long bridge located in Liaozi Township is the first large-span arch bridge in China that adopts the single-rib multi-axle rotation technology.
"The technology enables us to reduce a lot of mountain excavation, abandoned earthwork, land occupation and vegetation damage, which should also be called a green construction technology," said Lu Guannan, chief engineer of Road and Bridge International Co., Ltd.
The main structure of the main bridge is made of paint-free weathering steel, first of its kind in China.
The Chengkou-Kaizhou Highway is an important section of the Yinchuan-Baise Expressway and is expected to be a new direct and express inter-provincial corridor for Chongqing to go to northwest China's Shaanxi Province in 2026.
